Damp Proofing Systems.

Gel Based.
A cost effective and guaranteed method of treating rising damp in brick, stone or block walls. A water based and water soluble thixotropic gel which diffuses naturally into damp substrates and reacts to form a water repellent sillicone resin network. this network is permiable to water vapour which means the walls can "breathe" and dry out naturally.
Water Based.
Water based dpc system designed to be injected into walls affected by rising damp. after injection either into bricks or mortar joints it reacts with carbon dioxide to form a permanent water repellent coating within the capillaries of the masonary.
Solvent Based.
A ready to use organic solvent damp proofing liquid used in the same way as water based.
Electro-Osmotic.

A chemical free damp proofing system that utilises the principal of Electro-Osmosis. this occours when an electrical potential is applied across a damp porous material which causes a force to be exerted on the water which then moves towards the cathode (earth).

THERE ARE THREE MAIN TYPES OF DAMP.
: RISING
: PENETRATING
: CONDENSATION
: RISING
Usually moisture from below ground rises through cappillary action into walls. This brings natural salts from the ground which contaminate plasterwork.
: PENETRATING
moisture that finds its way in from other sources such as bad pointing, spalling of bricks, leaking gutters or flashings.
: CONDENSATION
Usually caused from a lack of ventilation, blue black mould apparent,
No matter what type of damp you have there is a solution to it. |
